Concrete rip rap is pieces of broken concrete used in erosion
control of all types, such as bank stabilization in creeks,
watershed ditches, sewer lagoons, and recreational lakes and rivers.
Rip rap must be angular in shape to allow interlocking between the
various pieces of concrete.
Rip rap is classified by Nebraska specifications by weight and size. In type A spec, all concrete pieces weigh less than 155 pounds. Type B spec, shown to the left, all weigh less than 309 pounds. Type C spec is the largest, with all concrete pieces weighing less that 695 pounds. |
